Description of the assessment

The aim of this assessment is for students to demonstrate the theoretical knowledge they have gained from their study during this module related to the assessment of an individual with a minor injury. The summative, graded assessment comprises two pieces of course work and you must achieve 40% or more in both pieces of coursework to pass the module.

CW2 (50% weighting) - A reflective analysis on a case presented via videotape of a simulated patient with a minor injury
A patient video will be made available at the end of the third week in the module. You will be asked to have case study template, which will help you analyse the case being presented. You will then reflect on the examination being undertaken and will explain what was done with the patient. You will also refer to critically discuss the relevant anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology to the care of patient with a minor injury and formulate a diagnosis, treatment and where appropriate a referral plan. You should support your writing with credible academic literature including a Harvard reference list and if necessary, appendices and must address Learning Outcome 1 and 2.
