Critical Information - Read First
An Operational Plan is a detailed plan used to provide a clear picture of how a team or department will contribute to the achievement of the organization's strategic goals.
The strategic goals of an organization are outlined in the Strategic or Business Plan, which highlights the organization's intended direction. Strategic plans identify the strengths and weaknesses, position in the marketplace, potential growth areas, and areas of vulnerability.
The Operational Plan should align with the organization's overall objectives in the Strategic Plan. Operational plans are used to identify the goals of the team or department, how the goals will be achieved, and what resources are required to meet the goals.
The Assignment
Create a 3- to 5- page Operational Plan for a team within an organization. You may choose an organization with which you are familiar, or create one for the purpose of this assignment. Be specific about the characteristics of the organization.
Include the following in your operational plan:
- A title page consistent with APA guidelines
- An introduction to the organization and at least three different strategic goals
- Specific team goals as they relate to the strategic goals of the organization
- Actions required to achieve team goals
- Human resources required
- Physical resources required
- An identification of the quality management approach chosen to guide the team's operation
- How the key elements of a quality management approach will be monitored and measured
- An indication of how long goals will take to achieve
- A conclusion
- A reference page consistent with APA guidelines
