Topic: Social Changes’ Impact on the Creation of New Social and Legislative Rules and Norms

I. INTRODUCTION

Social structure is the system within the society that is defined by the actions that individuals are likely to take regarding an issue or a systemized way of life adopted by a group of people. Social structures emerge out of social interactions that are as a result of the norms of the society. The norms form the basis of consciousness which act as the guide to the human way of thinking. Thus, human life is governed by the set of rules and regulations which are later endorsed as norms. The rules affect the life of people differently, and thus individuals will form norms from the defined rules based on the impact that they feel that the norm is contributing towards their lifestyle. This defines the reason why the rules and regulations set can be used to create and change social structures. It is for that reason that the society is made up of different systems that are entirely diverse of each other. They also have different rights and possibilities for people of different races, genders, ethnicity, class, and others. Social inequalities father negative attitudes within the communities which can often lead to devastating consequences. That is why it is important to view how different social issues dictate the changes in social and legislative rules and norms developing new social structures. Thus, social change is a complex phenomenon which is dictated by the need to change existing social and legislative rules and norms to meet new values and expectations of the modern society.

II. RULES AND NORMS WHICH AFFECT PEOPLE’S EVERYDAY LIVES

Rules and laws are the main factors that the society rely upon to define what is right and what is wrong. However, even after the implementation of such laws, they are not followed by every member of the society. This is the reason why there are cases in the corridors of justice due to the people who rebel form complying with the legal structure. People who have been into a given level of education must have been through a system of a rule such as institutional rules that guide their behavior into such institutions. Within them, they develop a mode of behavior out of the norms that they generate from the institutional rules. These groups of people are seen to have the same reasoning capacity and are likely to make a similar decision while handling various situations. Similarly, the social classes such as individuals in the upper class have different interaction platforms and social events that are guided by rules that fit their lifestyle. Such groups are in a position to adopt the same behavior that fits their lifestyle.

People in the same profession also have a base for learning different rules based on the moral and ethics that guide the practice. As a result, their behavior tends to be different from those in a different profession. Different communities present different social environment which is guided by the set of rules and norms that are believed to be right, and action against them classifies one as an outcast who needs to be re-engineered to fit into that society.

Professional, social and institutional rules are not the only things that can be used to structure and change the society. Other factors such as culture religion and family background present the rules that define their way of life and thus affect their reasoning.

Rules and norms which govern people’s daily interactions:

People tend to neglect representatives of a different social structure. Members of the legislative body of governance have more rivals on the street especially when in uniform while in their casual attire they have more friends on the street. Other than that, it may create fights among the society due to the collision of ideas that tempts every individual to fight for what they believe is right.

Due to the social differences, the government had to find a way out to create uniformity and reduce the levels of conflict within the society (Onuf, 2015). The use of the constitution to have a safe world to live in is also an incorporation of another set of rules that guide the thinking of all people within the confined areas within which it stipulates. The constitution, therefore, acts as a uniform set of rules and regulations that guide the way of life in governing and changing different social structures.

The part played by sociologists in harmonizing social structures:

Socialists’ primary role is to fight for equality of all groups within the society despite their structure. Some of the societal structures are of a lesser privilege than others and thus can be prone to manipulation by the higher group (Van Deurzen, 2015). It is for this reason that the socialist have to find a way out in balancing the social structure that the existence of the other oppresses none. Through their study of societal behavior, sociologists have realized the impact that rules and regulations have in shaping the society. As social issue arises on a frequent basis, the society needs to ensure that they are addressed in a fair manner. The sociologists, on the other hand, have realized the impact of such issues if not adequately addressed and call upon the intervention of the law in handling the arising issues. It is believed that only by the use of the solid national legislative body that social structures can fully oblige to the law.

The primary role that the sociologists play is to ensure that the society though may have social structures, they have an equal right when it comes to the access of social factors of production. However, they still recognize the fact that as much as the factors of production may be shared. Equally, those who have invested an upper hand in such provided opportunities must also have their rights equally protecting them. This means that all the societal structure must remain in a state of cooperation for the survival of each structure. As a result, of differences, the cooperation is formed by the constitution which offers rights and freedom that one is subject to within the state.

Based on the above-stated impact of the role played by rules and regulations, the sociologists’ have developed the social rule system theory that guides that attends to all the social rule system in a unique and unified manner. The theory recognizes the fact that the human behavior is determined by the produced and reproduced systems of governance. As a result, it is flexible and changes over time as the sociologists try every day to struggle to find a uniform way of handling issues within the society. On the same note, the society has managed to overtake the sociologists and thus the reason they call for a constant study of the societal behavior. It is through such studies that issues affecting the society are identified, and systems are put in place to guide their review. At the same time, those in existence that seems to address the issue are re-engineered to fit the current situation and help provide solutions to the existing issues. After their consideration and implementation of the set rules then the order is realized within the conflicting societal structures which shows the impact of rules and regulations in formation and organizational behavior of the society. The modern social theory is, however, apparent on blame games by the failures of the various individual on the social structure. The modern theory recognizes the fact that every individual must strive harder to attain what they need despite their status on the social ground (Craib, 2015).

III. CONCLUSION

Any phenomena that call for the construction of social orders must there begin by the construction of uniform norms, customs, laws, and taboos. As a result, the sociologists have to struggle their ways by bringing in other unique strategies that can unify the social structures by clearing the most linguistic differences among them. To balance the social concerns in a strategized manner, the sociologist must endure that they adhere common moral foundations of the society for the full acceptance of the newly introduced laws and regulations (Gonzalez-Perez, 2013). Moreover, the sociologists have realized the impact of such issues if not adequately addressed and call upon the intervention of the law to handling the arising issues by changing the society. It is believed that only by the use of the solid national legislative body that social structures can fully oblige to the law. Thus, the cooperation must be formed by the constitution is a necessity, as it offers rights and freedom that one is subject to within the state.
