Two university students created a new venture that produces and sells “herb walls.” These are vertical herb-growing towers that can be mounted side-by-side on walls (or used to form new partition walls). These towers allow restaurants to grow fresh herbs continually on-site with little spoilage, while offering a unique dining atmosphere. The vertical towers take up half the space used by traditional growing methods, and use only 10% of the water because the water is recycled in the system. The clients can grow their herbs from seed, or they can have the company grow the herbs until ready for the first harvest.
Why would this venture be classified as “blue ocean?”
a) Because it reflects environmentally conscious products in a unique way
b) Because its product conserves more water than traditional methods of growing herbs
c) Because it collaborates with its clients in a unique way
d) Because it has found a new market that is not already served by competitors
