Adjusting your code of ethics

Is there ever a situation where it is okay to change your ethical perspective? Consider the business world. With the rampant growth of technology, the world has become a global community with organisations expanding beyond their domestic borders. However, different countries have different cultures, thus what is ‘right' or ‘wrong' may have different connotations. With this in mind, do you think it is appropriate for a business to adjust its code of ethics when operating in a foreign country? What if that adjustment observes the ethical norms of the host country, yet gives the business a competitive advantage?
