Explain why is it importance to create a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)?
A work breakdown structure (WBS) provides an outline that identifies the products involved in the project. This defines the relationships between different components in a particular project or deliverable down to the work packages breakdown so you are able to clearly see the first level of work that needs to be completed. This structure is best suited for tangible items and not service oriented projects. It is important to have the project broken into work packages so that tasks and responsibilities can be assigned. In addition the WBS can help the project manager facilitate the cost, time and technical pieces of the project. As well as helping to manage the plan, schedule and budget. You are visually able to see distribution and communication channels to assist in coordinating the various project elements.
