2. Create a project schedule using either Microsoft Project,or Excel.

3. Add project costs to your schedule. Here is how:

a. Go to the resource sheet in Microsoft Project and add yourself as a resource. Give yourself an hourly wage.

b. Go [back] to the task sheet and assign yourself as the resource for each activity. As you add activity durations to your schedule, it will calculate the cost of completing each activity.

c. For example, if you believe that it will take you 4 hours to complete an activity, and you belief that your time is worth $50 an hour, it will automatically calculate $200 as the cost of completing that activity.

d. When all activities and durations are added to the schedule, you can view [Project], [Project Information] [Summary statistics] and you will see the total cost of the project. (Note: if you are using Excel to create your project schedule, you’ll have to enter the costs of each activity manually.)
