Here is some information about me to help: My name is Jelisa Miller, I am 36 years old, I am a Christian, a mother of 4 (3 girls, one boy), and a wife. I am currently a 2nd grade teacher. I have 10 years of teaching experience, 2 years in Dekalb county school district, 2 years in Fulton County Schools, and 6 years in Atlanta Public Schools. My goal to position myself in leadership roles such as instructional coach, mentor teacher, department chair, etc. I would like to learn and equip myself and other educators in the district evidence based strategies to improve student learn. I would like to learn more about policy changes to improve education and take the lead in making sure that other educators are more informed. I would like to prepare myself to leader other teachers (new and old), to refine their teaching methods when new practices are required in professional development. I would like to helps teachers stay ahead of emerging educational trends and best practices. During my time at mercer, I would like to connects like-minded educators and leaders who share a passion for improving education.
