Choose one of the following two assignments to complete this week. Do not do both assignments. Identify your assignment choice in the title of your submission.

Option #1: Health Policy Debate

Part 1 of Health Policy and Politics provided an overview of the values and concepts in health policy. Given your reading of the chapters, explain current health policy debate regarding the Affordable Care Act in the context of values, markets, and morals. In fairness and availability of care, who wins and who loses? Be sure to discuss equity, efficiency, and effectiveness. Be sure to select a point of view, and argue what should be done.

Please be sure to reach out to your instructor early in the week if you have difficulty with the topic.

Your paper should be 2-3 pages in length and conform to CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. Include at least three scholarly references in addition to the course textbook. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these references.

Option #2: Rights and Equity of Healthcare

Part 1 of Health Policy and Politics provided an overview of the values and concepts in health policy. Given your reading of the chapters, develop a presentation (PowerPoint, Prezi, Adobe Voice, Google Slides, etc.) and explain how the principals of social justice and human rights are relevant within the context of healthcare policies, accessibility, and healthcare disparities. How do these issues converge and diverge? Be sure to discuss the role of government in promoting equity and quality. Be sure to select a point of view, and argue what should be done.

Your presentation should be 8- 10 slides and include substantive speaker notes with the information you would present in a real audience setting and conform to CSU-Global Guide to Writing and APA Requirements. Include at least three scholarly references in addition to the course textbook. The CSU-Global Library is a good place to find these references.
