My current job has done a few things to deal with risk/uncertainty. A couple examples are diversifying, contingency planning, and data analysis. These actions allowed us to be able to pivot when the risk/uncertainty happened. An example of this is when COVID-19 happened. The company was able to not only survive but grow during the height of the pandemic. This was due to their belief in saving money for a rainy day. Those funds allowed us to pay the premiums for supplies, staffing, etcetera during those times.
