Question

The aspect of the topic reading that I've found interesting so far is reading about the different perspectives in the context of human life and existence. Some of the topics I read about made me have to really think about how I felt about the topics and asked myself where my beliefs and values fell within the perspectives discussed. Reading about what the ultimate reality is and how it can be interpreted differently depending on the beliefs or values of the individual asking the question. I never thought about ultimate reality and what that meant. I always believed in God and that he is the one who will make our final decision, but I didn't realize there was an actual word for the way I thought. I found it interesting that on the other hand, there are perspectives that reality is limited to this life and the material world. That ultimate reality was the search for the highest authority from a person, object, or foundation in which the final meaning of truth comes from Hogan, (2022)

Working in healthcare, you are given objective data including the illness a patient has and the medical treatment that the team has ordered. However, I believe that there is more that goes into health and illness, in order to provide the best care for someone and to receive good patient outcomes, one must also consider the spiritual needs of a patient. This can have a significant impact on how a patient recovers if they feel their healthcare team isn't following their values and preferences, they are less likely to follow the treatment plan. This is why it's important for healthcare workers to consider the spiritual and religious needs of their patients in addition to the physiological needs of the patient.
