The article "Online Shopping Grows, But Depart- ment, Discount Stores Still Most Popular with Holiday Shoppers" (Gallup Poll Analyses, December 2, 2002) included the data in the accompanying table. The data are based on two telephone surveys, one conducted in November 2000 and one in November 2002. Respondents were asked if they were very likely, somewhat likely, not too likely, or not at all likely to do Christmas shopping online.
