A sealed piston-cylinder assembly contains 3 lbm of water. The water is initially at P1 = 40 psia and T1 = 300°F. The water undergoes two processes in series:

1. Constant-temperature compression to Volumetric = 11.19 ft3, during which the water transfers heat out to the surroundings.

2. Constant-volume heating to P3 = 120 psia.

Sketch the two processes in series on a T-v diagram. Determine the overall change in internal energy, delta U (Btu), of the water.
