A person walks into a dark room bare footed and kicks a metal chair by accident. Use the knowledge you have gained from this module, and your external reading, to describe what they would feel and what they could do to alleviate the problem. Remember to reference your work.

The situation starts with a person walks into a dark room without any sleepers and also kicks the metal chair by accident. The first thing that person will do while entering into a dark room, is to open his eyes as wide as possible so that he can at least make out some shadows and some small amount of light that can guide them (Langley et al, 2011). The person will also feel some kind of sensation because of the obvious reasons.

These sensations can be in the form of confusion and preconceived apprehensions which are because of the doubts that what he might bump into because of the darkness. The person will also try to open his arms as it will help him in sensing the walls and the furniture that is placed in the room. He is also focusing and alerting all his senses so that he can hear slightest of sound or any kind of touch.

Since the person is bare feet and he can feel the touch of the floor. However the moment he tried to take a turn he forgot about the chair in the room and by mistake hit his bare leg with the metal chair (Langley et al, 2011). The pain came as a shock to him as he was not expecting this pain and he suddenly fall on the ground because of the pain and the big thump in the leg. He immediately grabbed his toes and tried to stop the pain but unable to do so. Tears came out of his eyes as the pain got unbearable and the fear of a broken toe crossed his mind because of intensity of pain (Frumer and Friedman, 2013). He started yelling with pain and calls out for his relative or a friend to come and switch on the light. While waiting for someone to come and switch on the light, he keeps pressing his toe because it is comforting the toe. The friend at last arrives and immediately turns on the light and found the person in extreme pain and tears. He asked his friend to check the condition of the toe and see if there is any problem with the toe. The friend touches the toe gently and checks the wound (World Health Organization, 2011). The person also started moving his toe to check the condition however; the pain was still there and so much so that he was unable to move it. He also realized that the toe is swollen and puffy which immediately made him understood that he has broken his toe. The friend got a bag of ice to comfort him from the unbearable pain and also helped him to move to couch and gave him painkiller which can help him to alleviate the pain and swelling (World Health Organization, 2011). Also the friend put his toe on the rest by keeping little higher from the couch so that the swelling can be healed in a fast manner. The next day he consulted a specialist doctor who proceeded with further treatment.
