The dean of School of Liberal Arts is interested to commission a survey to determine the starting annual salary of graduates earning a B.A. degree. A previous study had population standard deviation about $6,000. If the dean wanted a 90% confidence interval of mean annual salary of graduates with width no more than $3,000, how large a sample of graduates would she need?
