2. The October 19, 1990 edition of the Clemson University Tiger contained the information that in the last 86 World Series 46 times the series has been won by the team that began the series at home. Let p denote the probability of the World Series being won by the team that begins the series at home.

(a) Compute a point estimate of p.

(b) Construct a 90% confidence interval for p.

(c) Use the interval in part (b) to test whether starting the series at home has any effect on winning the series. State your null and alternative hypotheses.

(d) If one was interested in constructing a 75% confidence interval for p with interval length of no more than 0.4, how large a sample would be required? Comment on your result.
