Suppose prior elections in a certain state indicated it is necessary for a candidate for governor to receive at least 80 percent of the vote in the northern section of the state to be elected. The incumbent governor is interested in assessing his chances of returning to office and plans to conduct a survey of 2,000 registered voters in the northern section of the state. The survey reveals that 1,550 plan to vote for the governor. Using the hypothesis-testing procedure, can we conclude that the governor will not be elected? Use a = .05 significance level.
