Concluded nonproductive meeting

Three production supervisors have just concluded a nonproductive meeting. The meeting was all about finger pointing, blaming other departments, and what was for lunch. The original purpose of this meeting was to identify department problems and determine how to get production levels back on track for the company.

In discussion, each class member is to:

1) Identify how he or she feels the nonproductive meeting between these three manufacturing supervisors would impact the work performance of the department's workers.

2) Discuss why focus during business meetings is vital to accomplishing established business goals.

3) Identify ways meetings can be handled more successfully.

4) Discuss how gaining knowledge on how to successfully conduct a business meeting may impact employee and organizational performance.

5) Discuss how secure you would feel knowing your next performance evaluation would be handled by a supervisor that is known to goof off in important business meetings.
