This chapter discusses the concept of generalist social work practice.

It is the structure social workers follow in order to help people, groups, families, communities change. Generalist social work practice implies being able to deal with many issues (instead of specializing in certain areas). The chapter also talks about micro, mezzo or macro practice. Please note that as a generalist social worker you do not have the luxury of picking what level of intervention you want; you will work with all three levels. However, it is also important to know your strengths and areas that need improving. For this thought paper you are to write : Which level of intervention are you most comfortable with?
