The core of Marx's critique of capitalism is centered on the concept of alienation. Marx argued that the organization of production around private money profits ultimately leads to the dehumanization of work and life for the majority of the population i.e. the working class. Many people mistakenly believe that Marx's critique is focused on inequality. In fact, Marx was mainly concerned with the way the capitalist organization of production stifles individual freedom and development. Below are three videos that will help you understand Marx's concept of alienation.
