Potassium chromate (K2CrO4) is manufactured in a process in which 1.25 kg/s of a solution that is 33.3wt% K2CrO4 in the fresh feed stream is mixed with a recycle stream containing 36.36% K2CrO4, and the combined stream is fed to an evaporator. The concentrated stream that leaves the evaporator is 49.4% K2CrO4; this stream is fed to a crystallizer in which it is cooled (causing crystals of K2CrO4 to come out of the solution) and then filtered. The filter cake consists of K2CrO4 crystals and a solution that contains 36.36wt% K2CrO4. The crystals formed account for 95% of the mass of the total filter cake. The solution that passes through the filter, also 36.36wt% K2CrO4, is the recycle stream. Calculate the weight of water removed i the evaporator, the rate of production of crystalline K2CrO4, the ratio (kg recycle)/ (kg fresh feed), and the feed rates that the evaporator and the crystallizer must be designed to handle.
A sample of 255mg of neon occupies 3.00dm3 at 122K. Use the perfect gas law to calculate the pressure of the gas.
How much heat energy, in kilojoules, is required to convert 73.0 g of ice at -18.0 0C to water at 25.0 0C ?
The energy change, ?H, associated with the following reaction is +81 kJ. NBr3(g) + 3 H2O(g) → 3 HOBr(g) + NH3(g) What is the expected energy change
Find the volume in cubic centimeters of a box 25 mm x 12 cm x 0.20 m. How many grams of water should the box hold. The density of water is 1 g/mL and 1 cubic centimeter equals 1 mL.
A 32.85-{g} sample of a solid is placed in a flask. Toluene, in which the solid is insoluble, is added to the flask so that the total volume of solid and liquid together is 54.00 mL. The solid and toluene together weigh 58.88 g. The density of tol..

experiment to determine delta H of solution, would you expect to get a larger, smaller or identical temperature change? why?
if your input is a radiative heat source at 150 C, what is the rate at which heat needs to be added to produce the desired work and at what temperature will the engine dump exceess heat?
Calculate the molarity of a solution made by dissolving 0.850 grams of Na2SO4 in enough water to form exactly 930 mL of solution.
When equilibrium is reached at 700C, the total pressure of the system is found to be 4.00 atm. If the equilibrium constant Kp for this reaction is equal to 1.52,
If 13.5g of (NH_4)_2SO_4 is dissolved in enough water to form 230mL of solution, what is the molarity of the solution.
