Answer the following questions with reference to the isothermal transformation (T-T-T) diagram for a eutectoid steel. Show work.

a. Calculate the transformation rate for the austenite-to-pearlite transformation at 650 °C and at 600 °C. Show the relationship(s) you used to arrive at your answers.

b. Calculate the transformation rate for the austenite-to-bainite transformation at 500 °C and at 450 °C.

c. How long will it take for 100% pearlite to form at 650 °C and at 600 °C? Estimate the hardness values resulting from these transformations.

d. How long will it take for 100% bainite to form at 500 °C and at 450 °C? Estimate the hardness values resulting from these transformations.
