A water pipeline system is made up of three links in parallel. In any given year, on average, 99 in 100 pumps do not fail. The conditions in the links are statistically independent of each other.

A) If system failure occurs when any two of the three pumps fail, compute the probability of failure in the pipeline system.

B) What is the reliability of the system (i.e. probability of system success)?
