Liquid water is fed to a boiler at 24°C and 10 bar and is converted at constant pressure to saturated steam. While operating, this process produces 10,000 m3/h of steam, which is discharged through a pipe with an inner diameter of 10 cm. The kinetic energy of the liquid water entering the system is negligible. What is the temperature of the saturated steam leaving the boiler? Calculate ?H in kJ/kg for this process assuming H is independent of P for liquid water. Calculate the heat transfer in kW necessary for the process to operate.
