POWER AND SAMPLE SIZE DETERMINATION  USING MINITAB

Use MINITAB to compute power and sample size for an upper-tailed, one sample z-test, with σ = 4, designed to detect a difference of 2, at the signi?cance level of α = 0.05: (1) if = 25, determine the resulting power; (2) when the power is desired to be 0.9, determine the required sample size. (3) With a sample size of = 35, determine the minimum difference that can be detected with a power of 0.9.
