As a mid-level manager, you have been asked to compile a presentation about compliance with current regulations on health informatics systems. You are required to compile a PowerPoint presentation, detailing a plan for a specific health care setting of your choice to comply with current regulations related to the HITECH Act, HIPAA, and Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Assignment Instructions

Refer to the unit studies and compile a PowerPoint presentation, in which you will:

  • Identify regulatory agencies and laws that impact HIM. Be sure to highlight what specific regulations in these acts impact HIM.
  • Develop a plan to assist a health care organization (a specific setting of your choice) to comply with current HIM regulations.
  • Identify agencies of particular relevance to a specific health care setting.
  • Analyze the benefits of alignment with current HIM oversight organizations. Include the benefits of aligning with or joining a HIM support organizations such as AHIMA or HIMSS. Include points on how the alignment and membership may help meet regulations.

Make sure you write clearly and logically, with correct use of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and mechanics, and correctly format the paper and citations using APA sixth edition style.

Use the iGuide pages given in the resources for some helpful tips on creating a PowerPoint presentation. (You are not required to present this to your fellow learners in this course.)
