Competition and new products entrance constitute a major threat for some industries; therefore we need to keep an eye for our competitors. The fashion industry, for example, is intensely competitive and organizations need to be alert and innovative to adapt to changes in consumer demand. This was the case for Benetton, a previously market-driving company that had to change its market orientation due to new entrants (e.g. Zara) and tough competition. The company restructured its supply chain within a couple of years (Filieri, 2015). what are the lessons learned from the VF and Benetton case studies?
