The organization is a nonprofit organization providing assistance to homeless families in central Indiana. The organization has a paid director, 3 paid staff members (2 social workers and an office administrator/volunteer coordinator). The organization relies heavily on volunteers. They have over 50 volunteers who come in regularly to work directly with families. Generally the volunteers come in for 2-3 hours every week or two. How should this organization be using the internet to communicate? What’s the best way for the paid staff to communicate with one another? What’s the most effective and efficient ways to communicate with their “army” of volunteers? How could the internet be used to sustain an organizational culture that will make this organization thrive? What should this organization’s social media use policy be? Once you’ve decided what this organization’s internet and social-media use practices should be, write a 1 page summary of the recommendations you would make. Think of this as the précis or “executive summary” that you would give the Board of Directors. You might want to present your recommendations in organized bullet-lists. Then write a 2-4 page explanation of the recommendations you’ve made. Be sure to support your recommendations with thoughtful argument and persuasive evidence drawn from our readings and your own research.
