Description

Paying attention to environmental issues in the news can make you a more informed citizen. To encourage your environmental awareness, this assignment requires you to collect FOUR newspaper clippings on global climate change. Each article should examine a different aspect of global climate change. Each clipping should be mounted on a sheet of paper (8.5x11"), and the name of the newspaper, the date of the publication, and the page on which the article was published must be recorded on that sheet. Web-based newspaper articles are acceptable provided that they are from reputable news organizations. For web-based articles, instead of providing the printed text, provide the web address at the bottom of your response. All articles must be published within the last four months, and they must be published in English. For each article, you will need to write a two-paragraph response (a 1 page response, not including the news clipping). The first paragraph should summarize the article; the second paragraph should voice your response to the article according to scientific facts and your viewpoint based on those facts. Your response should demonstrate proper writing skills (spelling, grammar, sentence structure), your ability to construct informed opinions from facts. This assignment cannot be used to fulfill the requirements of another class.
