Assignment Objective
The aim is to develop the students understanding the contractual relationship between project participants and explores the principles employed, techniques used and factors impacting upon the construction estimating process

Assignment Tasks

1) Task 1 (proposal)• Aim of coursework:

Short paragraph (one or two points are enough for each headings) to summarize the expected outputs of the assignment. (Analysis, calculations, discussion, research on.., etc).

Time Plan: Prepare the time-plan in days. (20 marks) Student has to use a bar chart mentioning the name of activities with start date and end date with help of any software.

Task 2

Brook Consultant Company decide to construct college building in Al Rustak. The college building consist of 15 classrooms with administrative office rooms, game room and guest room. The Consultant Company deals with inception to completion of the project.
Bryan Consultant Company appoints you as senior Quantity Surveyor to prepare the cost estimate of the college building. Based on the figure -1 prepare the report by considering the following requirements.

a) Prepare the rate/m3 for earthwork excavation for foundation in Heavy clay strata by manually and by using machines and suggest the best economic method for excavation with proper justification.
b) Analyse the rate for earthwork excavation by manually and by machine in Heavy clay of length 25m for the figure 1.
c) Prepare the rate/m2 for Earth work support for the figure 1
d) Prepare the rate/m3 for foundation concrete of thick 350 mm for the Earth work excavation for the figure 1.
e) Determine the rate for foundation concrete of length 25m for the figure 1.

f) Explore the possible estimating method for the Earth work excavation for the shown Figure and suggest the best and economic method.
g) Explain the relationship between the client and the construction team with the help of simple flow chart.
