The school district attorney further argued that the district could not afford the School for the Deaf tuition and they did not view it as a needed expense. The judge who heard this case determined that the school district did not make errors in providing the parents their due process rights. However, after much deliberation, the judge ruled in favor of the Castro family. The school district was ordered to pay for Mia to attend the School for the Deaf.
