There's definitely a need if much has not changed with the online learning platform in 17 years. The only thing I can think of as far as changes with audio and video would be streaming classes online to attend and online classes which students log in to join in on a group chat with audio/video and visual Powerpoints in which the teacher could present in real time. The only issue with these changes would be that it would take away from the convenience of studying on students' own time. That is a major attraction of online learning; students can make their own schedules and study when it's convenient. I agree about audio and video, but don't you think they could create a system that offers those features in an asynchronous environment? That way, you could add those amazing features and keep the convenience.
