The surface area of clay particles can be determined by measuring the number of adsorbate molecules it takes to form a monolayer. The adsorbate molecules used for these measurements are usually N2 gas, therefore partial pressure "P" is used instead of Cw. Cs(Moles N2/kilograms of clay particles) P(ATM) 3.200 19393.94 3.000 12467.53 2.500 5818.18 2.200 4050.63 1.800 2592.26 (A) Using this data, calculate the surface area(m^2/kg) of the clay particles if the surface area of one adsorbate molecule, i.e. a N2 gas molecule = 0.16 nm^2/molecule. Note: 1 nanometer = 10^-9 meters. Also, 1 mole= 6.023 x 10^23 molecules
