The relative density of a sloped sand deposit is known to be 75%. Water is observed to be seeped through this slope at a rate such that the discharge velocity is 0.6 m/day. If the hydraulic conductivity for this deposit is 4×10-4 m/s. Calculate the gradient under which the flow is occurring. What is the value of seepage velocity? emax and emin (determined from laboratory tests) for this sand are equal to 0.75 and 0.46, respectively.
