1. A survey is made of 4 allozyme loci in a particular population. The alleles are labeled alphabetically according to the mobility of their products in electrophoresis (from fast to slow). A sample of 250 individuals gave the following results:

Locus Genotype

A/A A/B B/B A/C B/C C/C A/D B/D

Adh 18 107 125 - - - - -

Mdh 114 75 10 12 30 -       7    2

Est-A 10 70 120 11 35 4 - -

Pgm 250 - - - - - - -

a) Calculate the gene frequencies at each gene locus.

b) For each locus, what would be the expected genotype numbers given Hardy- Weinberg ratios?

c) Calculate the "% polymophic loci" and "average (expected) individual heterozygosity" from this sample.
