Fifty grams (50g) of hot water at 90 degrees C are mixed with 70g of cold water at 20 degrees C.

(a) What is the final temperature of the mixture when it reaches equilibrium?

(b) Suppose the hot (90 degrees C) material is not water, but is 50g of aluminum instead. The specific heat capacity of aluminum is 0.216/cal/g/degrees C. What is the equilibrum teperature when the aluminum is placed in 70g of 20 degree C water?
