An activated sludge process receives 4000m^3 / day containing 120 mg BOD /L from the primary settling tank and 3500 m^3/day
Containing 25mg BOD/L from the secondary settling tank. The concentration of mixed-liquor volatile suspended solids  (MLVSS) in the aeration tank is 3200 mg/L. the design value of hydraulic residence time in the aeration tank is 2.5 hours . the design value of hydraulic loading for the secondary settling tank is 4.0m^3/m^2-hr . The ratio of diameter to depth in both tanks is 3:1
a-calculate the surface area and volume of the aeration
b-calculate the surface area and volume of the secondary settling tank.
c- Calculate the F/M ration for the aeration tank
