A 0.374g sample of a metallic element, M, is completely dissolved in 100ml of 0.500N sulfuric acid. The liberated hydrogen occupied a volume of 320ml when collected over water at 25 degrees celcius and the pressure of the gas was equalized to the atmospheric pressure of 750mm as in this lab. Calculate the equivalent weight of the metal, M.
