The constant pressure molar heat capacities of ice and water are 37.7 J/ mol K and 75.3 J/ mol K respectively. The molar enthalpy of fusion of ice is 6.01 kJ/ mol at 0.00° C. The system consists of a 105 gram sample of H2O, initially in the form of ice .
The water is then allowed to freeze to form ice at -10.00° C. The surroundings are at -10.00° C. Calculate the change in entropy of the system, the surroundings, and the universe as a result of this process. Is this process reversible?
