Part 1.

Using the plans for a dwelling and the relevant Australian Standard you are to calculate the bracing required for the building and complete the Bracing Layout Plan.

(The plans are scaled at 1:100 when printed/viewed on A3 size) You are to provide the relevant details of the bracing proposed to be used including any special fixings required.

The building is proposed to be constructed in an area that has been given a Wind Classification of N3.

Part 2

You are to undertake a review of domestic building construction to observe the steps in constructing a residential dwelling. The report should focus on the construction observed during the site inspection of the 24th October Undertake a pictorial and accompanied written analysis of the construction methods observed onsite, commencing from site scrape through to completion ready to hand over to the client. Use your creative talents to showcase the stages of a typical house build, noting both the elements of the building construction identified and detail WHY these elements/methods are being utilised. Reference to relevant standards will also be required.
(Allow around 2000 - 2500 words).

If weather becomes a problem, or if some aspects of construction are unable to be observed during the site visit, it may be necessary to obtain images from other sources. Ensure that any sourced images depict Australian construction methods The building process report should use correct terminology in describing the construction process - i.e. avoid ‘trade names' when describing materials.
