BUSINESS COMMUNICATIONS Assignment: You would like to start your own business. The question is what kind of business should you pursue?

Conduct an online research to help you decide which business is most likely to succeed. You can research any business idea you have.

Tip: think of two business ideas and research both to see which would likely be most successful. Or, if you are unable to find adequate research on one, you'll have a second idea to research. Students always ask about the research objective.

The research objective is a combination of your topic and goal, or you can view it that way. What is the purpose of your research? What is the goal with your research? What are you wanting to accomplish with your research? When you research, make sure the research objective (the topic to accomplish a goal) is specific, targeted and achievable. Specific means narrowed.

Targeted means you have a distinct idea you are researching. You are seeking information to accomplish a specific goal and your research is targeted to answer specific questions. The specific questions are determined by thinking about your objective and the goal you have with your research.

Make sure your research objective is achievable, meaning the questions you have can actually be answered through your research. Research objectives that have readily available information. Getting started: Begin your research by developing at least one research objective that is specific, targeted, and achievable.
