Therefore getting to know each team member both professionally and personally is important to build a strong relationship between a leader and subordinate. Every person has a different personal lifestyle and personal needs, it is essential to know this in order to show empathy when a team member is in need. When a leader shows interest in the well being of their team in and out of the workplace it creates a positive environment for the team. In my opinion team members begin to care more about the outcome of their work because they want to make the leader proud and not let him or her down. The professional growth of the team becomes important to everyone individually.

The values of a leader are reflected on their behavior in general. In the way they treat others both in a professional setting and personal. When a leader shows respect and kindness and puts others before themselves creates a sense of a higher respect and care from their employees and ultimately has a high performance team.
