Mary has asked Sarah's department to discuss the violations in relation to the HITECH Act and in particular, the Breach Notification Rule. At the end of the discussion, Mary plans to review the department's dialog in order to gain a better understanding of the HITECH Act, breach notification requirements, and all department recommendations in the unfortunate event of a health system violation.
