The team used data from the Air Force and quality tools and concepts to select the project and determine the root causes of the problem. Results that included increased system reliability by 7,400% and reduced initialization time by a factor of 11 exceeded expectations for the system. In addition, the team met cost, schedule, and performance targets and kept the cost of the project under budget.
