Amanda, a 3-year-old child in her first year of nursery school, refuses to share her toys with any other children. She grabs what she wants and screams or hits when something is taken away. She does not respond to her teacher's instructions about sharing. How would a BEHAVIOURIST developmental theorist explain Dana's behaviour? She is neurologically wired to be aggressive. She is being reinforced or rewarded for grabbing by getting what she wants. Something happened to her in an earlier stage of development and she is manifesting these subconscious issues in her behaviour. She is egocentric and too young to understand the concept of sharing.
