Please note that you must research the topic carefully. You need to find also at least 12-15 relevant refereed journal sources published after 1999 (including also medical databases available) that contain relevant sources for the topic. Not more than 20% of your sources can be professional magazines or blogs or any online material. You may use also Google Scholar but it will sometimes take you a publisher’s web site that requires you to pay –The report needs to be not longer than 10 pages single spaced text and needs to present a synthesized analysis of the particular topic as a Word report.

The paper should show your analysis of findings from published sources (including mostly refereed papers (at least 80% of your sources) however some other media publications or health professional publications might be useful as well).

FORMAT REQUIRED: The paper report needs to have a title, a 15-20 line abstract as one paragraph (Executive Summary- note that it is written at the very end after the paper is finished), table of contents, introduction, a main body in several sections presenting the results of your research and a conclusion. At the end of the report list your references (sources of information). Use only the Harvard Notation (A site for citing and referencing) for references or the APA reference guide.

An excellent research paper should reflect the following requirements:

1. It needs to show that the author has investigated professionally the problem, including the review for the best practices related to the problem

2. The report needs to be supported by relevant literature references for its research section.

3. The size of the report without references should be not exceeding 4000 words but should not be less than 2500 words. However the quality of the report reflecting application of the body of knowledge on Healthcare Information Systems covered in class and adherence to the guidelines matters more than the size please.
