Marketers should be aware of the several trends occurring amongst the uncontrollable environmental factors and be able determine the potential impact of these trends on a company’s need for change(s) in its present marketing program(s). Of concern amongst the macro environmental forces is the growing concern for companies’ impact on the natural environment and the natural environment’s impact on companies.Which of the follow trends would be of most important to marketers who are concerned with biodiversity, conservation and the environment?

a) The rate of retirement amongst baby boomer cohorts as well as their predicted longer life cycles due to their healthier living styles that many practice today.

c) The increasing debt being accumulated by the Generation Y cohort market due to college loan obligations, thus resulting in their having less discretionary income to purchase goods and services beyond basic necessity items.

d) The development of bionic leaves that can capture, store, and use solar energy in locations remote from electrical grids, and do so at energy conservation efficiencies approaching 10 times that of natures’ version of photosynthesis amongst natural leaves.
