Assignment:

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) leaders have maintained their traditional respect for the principle of non-interference in the affairs of states, despite human rights issues that have come to the fore in the region's Asia politics. In light of grave human rights abuses in Cambodia and Myanmar, the Marawi siege in the Philippines, and the growing threat of terrorism in the region, there are calls for "constructive engagement" and "actual interference" in each other's affairs.

Assess the implications of the non-interference principle and how ASEAN can unite its members against the threat of terrorism in late modern Southeast Asia.
