You own an organization that has acknowledged that historically it has not done the best job at hiring people over 55 and less than 25 years old. You have spent much time, money and effort on implementing HR best practices to hire people in these age brackets. In your most recent search for a Director of Sales, you were only successful in locating/attracting three imminently qualified candidates all of which were roughly between the ages of 35 and 50. The role is very important and needs to filled as soon as possible due to lost sales. Would you not proceed with the three qualified candidates and start-over with the search process? Why? Are there any potential ethical issues?
