In professor Karnani's article, he emphasized that there are far more effective,appropriate entities in place to make the world a better place. i .e government regulation,watching groups and customer advocacy groups,therefore corporations should not be misled into taking up social responsibility because there are plenty of 'good guys" out there to hold the whole system in check. However,in recent years, many basic services and parts of our everyday lives have been sold off and privatized(healthcare,clean water,energy,education,etc) corruption is rising,and public trust in government remains dismally low.So given this changing context isn't it justifiable to demand companies assume more social responsibilty? if corporations occupy such a big chunk of our lives,then why cant they all do more? discuss
